Library Maps

The University Library is an integrate web of spaces, services, and resources throughout campus. These tools are meant to help you navigate those spaces. Facilities & Services maintains a directory of ADA-compliant maps including floor plans and building data. Features include; accessible entries and exits, interior access routes, evacuation assembly areas, restroom and water fountain locations, elevator and stair locations, assistive listening systems, parking, and bus stops. The following maps include Library spaces.

ACES Library

Funk Library (also known as the ACES Library and the Funk ACES Library) currently supports research and provides extensive print and online collections for numerous campus units, including the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology, College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES), School of Integrative Biology, School of Molecular and Cellular Biology, Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Department of Landscape Architecture, and Prairie Research Institute.

Altgeld Hall

Altgeld Hall is the permenant home to the Mathematics Library. However, during the Altgeld Hall renovation program the Mathematics collection is housed in the Main Library Stacks (1 East).

Architecture Building

The Ricker Library of Architecture and Art is on the second floor in Room 208.

Grainger Engineering Library Information Center

GELIC supports research related to Physics, Geology, Computer Science, and an array of Engineering disciplines.

Gregory Hall

The Communications Library is housed in Room 122. The Communications Library supports the instructional and research programs of the UIUC Department of Communication and the College of Media, including the Department of Advertising, the Department of Journalism, the Institute of Communications Research, and the Department of Media and Cinema Studies.

Harding Band Building

The Sousa Archives and Center for American Music (SACAM) acquires and preserves significant archival records and historical artifacts in multiple media formats that document America’s local and national music history and its diverse cultures.

Main Library

The Main Library building houses a significant selection of the University of Illinois Library’s over 15 million volumes as well as the following departmental

Music Building

Located in Room 1300, the University of Illinois’s Music and Performing Arts Library is one of the largest at a public university, and its music holdings are currently ranked very high among music libraries in the United States and, indeed, in the world.

Noyes Laboratory

The Chemistry Library supports the curricular and research needs of the School of Chemical Sciences (SCS). Our holdings cover all basic chemistry and chemical and biomolecular engineering. The Chemistry Library’s collection includes over 200,000 volumes, many at the Oak Street Storage Facility. It is located in Room 170.

Veterinary Medicine Basic Sciences Building

The Veterinary Medicine Library’s comprehensive collection supports instruction, research, and general reference needs in all areas of basic, clinical, and related areas of veterinary medicine, and is especially strong in parasitology and toxicological materials. It is located in Room 1257.
